How exactly are braces put on, do they hurt, and any advice??????

I'm getting mine on Thirsday and I want to know all there is to know and eveything including what happens when they're taken offHow exactly are braces put on, do they hurt, and any advice??????
When they're put on, the brackets are glued to your teeth using a special cement. Then they have a wire that is inserted into the brackets. The wire is held in place by bands. They do hurt some after you get them put on, and after every time the tighten your braces. You can take a tylenol, advil, etc. to ease the pain. Remember to brush TWICE a day, and floss ONCE a day. I use whitening toothpaste and extra whitening non alcohol mouth wash. When they take your braces off (Mine are gettig taken off in 39 days, yay!) they take off the bands and the wire, then pop off the brackets with a tweezer like tool, that has the ends bent inward. They ask you to go brush your teeth, then they start chizzleing the let over cement off. Most people say this is the worst part of getting braces off. Then they have a little disc thing that spins fast like its polishing your teeth, and thats to get any left over crud off. Then you can brush your teeth, and get molds for your retainer. 4 weeks after you get your retainer, you go in to get it checked. Hope this helped. How exactly are braces put on, do they hurt, and any advice??????
1) They'll put this thing in your mouth that keeps it open (doesn't hurt at all)

2) They'll place the suction tube in your mouth (it gets really really dry but its never painful)

3) They'll fit you with the wire holder. I dont actually know what they are called but they go on your mollar they have to push these in kind of hard and secure them with cement. (This can hurt a tiny bit)

4) The brackets are put on with glue and some blue light. (Again no pain)

5) They'll put the wire into place and tighten it. (This can also be a bit painful)

6) Any adjustments are made like: wire cutting

I actually don't think it hurt getting them on. Afterwards when you feel the pressure it can hur a bit but on a scale of 1-10 its probably a 3 tops. Eating the first 3-5 days is a lilttle painful so stick to soft food and don't try anything really crunchy. They aren't that bad once you get used to them. Just make sure if a wire ever gets to long to go back to the dentist because that can be annoying and painful.

When they are removed the dentist takes the wire off(some denists leave it on), they put something on your teeth to soften the glue, then they pull the brackets off. Then they use a drill for any remaining glue. Its not painful and you'll probably be happy to have them off so you won't really notice.

Hope this helps %26amp;%26amp; Good Luck
it doesn't hurt until a couple of hours after they put them on and almost everytime after you get your wires changed

when they put my braces on they shoved cotton balls in my mouth so that it would stay dry and they put something in to keep it open....then they used a lazer thing to stick on the brackets
