Has anyone actually had success with Home Depot advice in any department that was not generic?

Everyone mentions the Home Depot for advice, where i'm from i wouldnt ask them for directions. Just curious.Has anyone actually had success with Home Depot advice in any department that was not generic?

I never asked them non-generic hardware questions.
Actually here in Southern California they are mostly retired carpenters/painters and such so they are very helpful and knowledgeable. it will usually say on their badge what their prior expertise was so you can be confident in their answers.
