Is there any goalie advice for a new blocker?

I am a high school travel player who is currently using an Itech 4.8 X-factor blocker. It has been torn up and gotten too small, and I am looking for a new blocker. I WOULD LIKE TO STICK TO ITECH- i like their products. i am currentlly looking at the 7.8 X-wing and the 4.8 X-wing. any recommendations? Is there any goalie advice for a new blocker?
Don't skimp on the leather quality where your fingers are protected. Your hands are always down near the ice where 10 razor blades are whirling around.

Generally there are 3 grades of goalie equipment:

1. Entry Level

2. Semi-Pro (intermediate)

3. Pro

The first two levels are usually made off-shore (machine made in China) and never last half as long as Pro quality (which are hand made in Canada). If possible, go to a store that focuses mostly on hockey and you'll receive better advice and selection. Is there any goalie advice for a new blocker?
The higher number is probably the better product.

Make sure it fits, yadda yadda yadda.
make sure u get something that u can get to know. like, if u can make a high stick side save without turning ur head. also make sure that the glove part fits PERFECT, if it gets distracting u will let in sum bad goals. Another thing to consider is how well u can handle ur stick with ur blocker on. thats really important. Just ask marty turco
