Start at a half a mile and run - just a jog. Do that for a a week. Then move up to a mile do that for a week. Slowly move up to 3 miles. Make sure you don't go too soon too fast! And try to run on a soft surface! (Rubber track, grass, dirt) Not asphault on a track - you'll hurt yourself.
Just be very very careful of not starting doing too much or you'll injure yourself!OK I am going to join the track team in the spring but am really out of shape. Anyone have advice?
Try it a step at a time, try going for a smaller distance and when you get the hang of that, gradually increase the distance you are running. Practice this till you can run a lot and keep on practicing. Or maybe you should read about proper breathing techniques while running, try to breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth. Eat and Drink well before you run and strech all your major muscles
well I was out of shape as well u gotta condition yourself if your school has a speed or strength program get into those usually help, If not ask the coach for a workout they usually do
join the cross country team or if u have like a swim team or indoor track team do that try running for about maybe 20 mins a day and work your way up to 30 mins then 40 and then to where your running about an hour everyday and if you have a local gym go to that and hit the treadmill
start to run every day, easy. slowly and with patience you will build up endurance and get faster and be able to run farther.
