My husband is seriously considering being a police officer when and if he loses his job in April (he most likely will). I am still kinda shocked by it b/c he went to do this once before but backed out. While looking for a job after getting out of the Army, he went and took the test, had the 2nd highest score, was about to leave to the police Academy and then BOOM... ';I don't want a dangerous job anymore';. I think he was still struggling w/ coming back from a war zone. I am curious to see if he will follow through this time. Anyway, rambling as always.... I would just be open with your family. You will need your family standing behind you through the entire process (hiring, training, etc). I have never been more proud of my husband, but was hard to adjust to %26amp; is still hard to adjust to having him gone all night. I would just explain it to your wife, significant other, parents, %26amp; ask for their advice and help in telling your child. Good luck!
