I was wondering if any high schoolers had any advice for a soon to be freshman girl?

i have heard that it is really hard to keep yourself in high school but i just wanted to hear someone's opinion that was in high school.. talk to me!!I was wondering if any high schoolers had any advice for a soon to be freshman girl?
Well, it can be hard at first. but it gets easier. just remember to stick to what your believe in, no mattter how hard. once people kno how you stand, they usually respect that. and having friends who think the same is also a help. just be yourself, and dont be too pressured by all the older kids. hope i helped.I was wondering if any high schoolers had any advice for a soon to be freshman girl?
Its not that hard. Some teachers talk and say :well the teachers are verry harsh and they wont let you copy notes down slowly: and **** like that. But realy the teachers are Probably like the middle school teachers. Some are cool some are stupid. Some act like *** holes. You know.
I'm in 9th

depends on the school, but general advice would be to just do your homework. also, some teachers (usually the ones who have been teaching a while) just give you credit for seeing SOMETHING on your homework paper.

If you get a really horibble teacher, that could be good. start talking to someone in the class about how bad they are. its a good way to make a friend.

if you are interested in something that your school offers as an elective, take it and take something in summer school so you can take that AND your language. i dont suggest taking math in summer school because it will be too fast-paced and your next math class will just be harder
I love high school dont worry bout it
im a freshie right now

it isnt that hard really you just should be really mature-like so the older kids dont think youre wierd

just hang with your group and DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES (unlesss someones dying or theyre your friend) TALK TO ANY of the seniors or juniors the juniors ive found are actually a bit meaner.....
advice for high school:

1.dont be a ####

2.dont copy anyones styles
it is if u r w/ the wrong guy. don't waste ur virginity until ur at least 18. or if ur nervous don't get hot and heavy w/ guys. w/e u do don't let a guy pressure u into something ur not ready for.
ok im in high school and well my grades went down A LOT...i used to get like 95%-100% without trying and now i have to try VERY hard to just get 90%s so yeah the classes get really hard

ummm the ';popular'; people get more ';popular'; and ignore you even more

you realize who your true friends are

and there is A LOT of drama but you just gotta stick with your friends and your morals and dont do ANYTHING without thinking because trust me, IT ONLY MAKES THINGS WORSE

i hope i helped a little
First off I'm a jr. an i can say is put school first and dont let anything distract you from wat your supposed to be doing, and get used to not telling anybody anything because friend or foe people talk. B EZ
well... first of all, dont be afraid.... its not that scary. 2nd dont date seniors when you are a freshman.

My skin is very delicate and I have tried all I can, What do you advice?

My skin is a very delicate and sensitive skin, I have tried different types of product, the last one I tried was mary Kay, could some please tell me how to treat my face and what product to try next.My skin is very delicate and I have tried all I can, What do you advice?
for sensitive skin u can use a herbal soap free cleanser, a toner with tea tree oil or rose water or witch hazel, and moisturize with aloe gel instead of a regular moisturiser.

once a week u can apply a face mask of mashed papaya, fresh cream and honey.

do not over exfoliate ur skin either. restrict it to once every 10 days if u have oily skin or once in 2 weeks for dry skin. use a sugar based natural scrub. The AHA in sugar will also make ur skin glow.

all the best!My skin is very delicate and I have tried all I can, What do you advice?

i love thy Nicole Millers line of makeup it was featured on Oprah even and you can get it directly from the makers. Melaleuca, makes it. It is full of vitamins for your skin and not full of chemicals. Go to this website a click on more info and tell her that you just want the make up.... beaworkfromhomemom . com also you can go to the Melaleuca . com website and click on beauty it is where i get all mine and i love it !!
Drink lots of water; it hydrates the cell and cleanses out waste. Use gentle, non abrasive mild soaps- sold at pharmacies and other stores. Your skin might be reacting to something in your diet; often times foods that are oily such as peanuts can cause the skin to become more oily. If you are a teen, make sure you get plenty of rest and exercise; I find that my skin started clearing up after I started exercising regularly and drank more water because I was clearing out the wastes in my body. It will take some time but you should consider seeing a dermatologist to give you the right information.
Almay, Neutrogena
what's wrong with your face? Too oily, too dry, acne, irritation? What type products are you looking for?

If it's delicate, don't wash with soap, maybe just once a week. No matter how good the soap is, it is still a cleaning agent and can cause irritation.

What is your best advice for a up and coming freshmen in high school?

Ahh, my favorite question. Well, I messed up my freshman year and boy, I wish I have done so many things. Ok,ok to get to the point..

First, if your grades arn't that to savvy, join as many clubs as possible. Colleges see that clubs are extra curricular activities and it tells them that you aren't sitting home playing games all day after school. Other than clubs, go volunteer and places or work. Volunteering is great for your apps for college.

If you can and have the passion to study hard, get into all honors courses. It can be very very time consuming, but it is possible if you really really study hard.

Sports, do sports that you are fond of. If you don't like touching people, then I'd advise you to not take wrestling. :P

Hang out with the right crowd (not the sluts, extreme geeks, and the non conformist emo kids) Just go up to some normal kids and be like ';sup';What is your best advice for a up and coming freshmen in high school?
Remember that high school is much more serious than you will ever experience compare to elementary/middle school. All your effort in high school will determine which college you will go to. In addition, try a extra curriculum like sports: basketball, tennis, badminton, etc. But most importantly, don't just play video games or watch TV wasting your summer, at least read as many book as you can! Freshman year might take a while for you to get used to it but if you have a lot of friends, you will be fine.

Good Luck! What is your best advice for a up and coming freshmen in high school?
Don't stress! Today was my first day as a HS freshman, and it wasn't that bad. Don't draw to much attention to yourself, upper classmen might not like that. Be yourself, relax, and don't be afraid to ask any questions.
Be yourself. Don't try to hard to fit in. Find other people with the same interests that you do. Join some clubs.

    Good Luck!
Act like yourself. The reason that people tend to hate freshmen is because they think they're all that and get cocky, or otherwise can't handle being mature.

What is the WORST advice you have seen on this forum?

It scares me that some people come here for advice on medical issues, and baby problems. What is the absolute worst advice you have ran across? What kind of stupid advice have you read on here? What is the WORST advice you have seen on this forum?
I saw once where a person suggested someone sick kill themselves by poison. It was all over having a baby out of wedlock. I sure hope the advice was ignored. What is the WORST advice you have seen on this forum?
well when i asked a question, and made up a story, i got a bunch of rude answers, and then deleted the question
    A woman asked about an upcoming study-abroad semester planned for school in England, and wanted to know what to do to prepare. I answered, ';Be sure to learn the language.';

    That's pretty bad, I know.

Listen, no one with any common sense comes to something like this, expecting serious answers! Or, they shouldn't. I hope.
    Pray on it.
Just about all of it is bad.

It is rare to find good advice here.

Me and my boyfriend of 3 years are moving in together. Any advice?

    Hi!

As I stated in the title, my boyfriend of 3 years and I are getting our own apartment together. Neither of us have lived with someone before. We're both in our 20's, both work full time, and I go to school.

Can anyone who's been in this situation offer me any advice or tips to keep our relationship strong and avoid the issues that arise when living together?Me and my boyfriend of 3 years are moving in together. Any advice?
Just rember, both of you are used to being on your own, so getting over the lack of privacy will be tough. Also, not everyone makes a good roomate. We each have our own tolerances on things like cleaning, noise etc. Just try to understand that both of you will have to make concessions.

SMe and my boyfriend of 3 years are moving in together. Any advice?
Make sure to keep time for yourself, don't think that u can't go shopping without him or that if he wants to sleep it doesn't mean its bed time for you. Keep the intimate part of your relationship fun also. living together can seem to take the fun out of sex, the truth is that now you can feel free to experiment more. and Don't hide your feelings if you feel u are the only one doing house work let him know and make sure u do your part too!
Decide now who is going to handle the finances...the bills, the checkbook. Are you going to keep separate accounts or have one jonit? Who is going to pay what and how much? Decide which chores will be done by whom and when, who will do laundry, cook, change the sheets on the bed, change the bathroom towels before they can walk to the laundry on their own.

Bottom line, communication is the key.
now that your gona see each other every waking

moment just make sure to keep the relationship

interesting. people tend to get too comfortable

and forget the things u guys used to do for each

other, apart. sort of taking it for granted. u will

really get to know each other. be prepared to adjust

to the things u didnt really wanted to know. there'll

be control issues. if u end up handling this well, you'll

be one step closer to a married life.
It's a great experience, but it's going to take some getting use to. As long as both of you are working and the finances are good and communication is good then you will be just fine. It's not easy though.
Communication, if/when there is a problem always talk things out, share the costs, and lots and lots and lots patience!!!
Money is the biggest problem, effective communication is the second. Best bet, establish three checking accounts, one for household expenses and one each for disposable. This is NOT a trust issue. Establish some reasonable rules as if you were just ';room mates';. Learn to ';fight fair';. Fight isn't bad, it is a form of communication, but fight fair. Luck.
You need to have common goals, establish good lines of communication. i.e. finances, cleaning...etc.
dont shop ..unless you do it with each other .. set one day were you two just have time with each other .. then things will be find
your post 2 years from now:

    ';my live in bf of 5 years won't marry me. do i dump him and marry the first guy that comes my way? but i still love my lame @ss bf.. what do i do???';
decide on house chores who does what/when

you dont want to be his mama
    yeah....

    1. Don't do it!

    2. Never, ever enter into a contract with someone who you are not married to. To some people, there isn't a whole lot of incentive to honor their part of the agreement if they are able to get up and walk away with no loose strings.

    3. Keep your assets seperate. Do not combine money, names on car titles, etc..

    4. Do not buy anything ';together';. If you want to buy furniture, make it yours or his.

    5. Put into writing how rent and bills are to be split. Write it as if it were a prenup. If you happen to buy furniture together, put into writing again how it will be paid. Put everything involving money into writing.

    6. Write out a budget that includes both your incomes. Decide if you two and truly afford the place or not (if you have two apartments, it may very well be much cheaper).

    7. Talk about what would happen if you two broke up. Be realistic. It is very, very tough to live together as ex's. It is also unrealistic for one person to say ';I'll keep paying my part of the rent when I move out';.

In terms of keeping the relationship strong and preventing issues, either it will happen or it won't. Relationships are work. When you move in together or get married, things that were a small annoyance before become 10 times worse because you have to deal with it every day, all day.

Moving in together is a bad idea. It opens yourself up to huge financial risks if the other person ends up not being trustworthy or even if something happens that is not their fault (lose their job, become disabled, etc). If you are ready to play house, I would make sure you are able to make it on your own in case he leaves. I'd also bring up the marriage question and see where he stands on that.

I'm not just taking out of my a**. I've been where you are. I was engaged and moved in with my fiancee and one of her friends. We were dating about 3 years at that point. She left me for another guy and skipped out on the lease. The other roomie quit paying the bills, including the rent (though she kept sending my rent check in, so I had no idea anything was wrong until I got a lawsuit for back rent and an eviction notice). As I was the only one with money and responded to the lawsuit, when the lawsuits started coming, guess who got left holding the bag? In the end, it costs me thousands to get myself out of the hole that was dug by everyone else except me.

Live and learn. As I said, I was young like you once too. You will believe you are different and it will last forever. Watch the People'c Court or go to the local Small Claims Court and watch the cases. I'm sure they thought it would last forever too.

I'd recommend being smart and avoid moving in together unless you have to.

What's the best advice you were given when preparing for your second baby's arrival?

Just make sure you have plans already in place for where your first one will be while you are delivering and at the hospital. It helps ease the stress a little. Then, after you deliver, make it a big deal for the older child. Give them a sense of pride, and instead of only gushing about the new baby, also gush about how awesome of a big brother/sister that the older one will be. Also, don't forget that while fragile, yes, babies are also not breakable...let your older one feel really responsible, and helpful..while pointing out boundaries too. You will find your family balance really early on. Just make them as big a part of the whole thing as possible. What's the best advice you were given when preparing for your second baby's arrival?
The best advice I should have been given was to have no expectations. Just because you've done this once, doesn't mean it'll be the same, or even similar. Yet at the same time, people told me to expect the second child to be completely different from the first, so I was surprised when I kept seeing similarities. Your child could be the same or could be different, or even both, which is why you should enter this new stage with the same sense of wonder and excitement as you did the first. What's the best advice you were given when preparing for your second baby's arrival?
Dont shush your older child just so the baby can sleep... the baby has been listening to your other child for nine months and wont even hardly notice it...

plus, shushing your other child may make them jealous or they may resent you or the new baby!!

I didnt do it and my baby slept just fine!! I also didnt have to deal with sibling jealousy at al!! Now that they are older, though, they wake each other up just so they can play!!
To try to get stuff done around the house when either child is sleeping, feed them at the same time, bathe at same time, read, and so on.
