Acting advice needed!!!! Please help; this could be a great chance for me!!?

There`s a good chance that I might get a screenplay published and I really want to be in it. I need some acting tips and things. Please help!!!!Acting advice needed!!!! Please help; this could be a great chance for me!!?
I hate to say this, but don't be yourself at all. Be the character. Actually think as the character. Wear clothes the character would wear, react to things as the character would, speak as they would, and try to really get in their mind. It's not as easy as it sounds, and not quite as hard. It's harder. I'm not trying to discourage you. I'm just warning you that it's harder than it sounds. Don't stress, but really dedicate yourself and it will show in your acting.Acting advice needed!!!! Please help; this could be a great chance for me!!?
A minor point. Screenplays are produced not published.

As for the acting. Pick up a book called acting for the camera by

Tony Barr. It has helped me.
Take a class if you can. If not then act naturally like you would anyday. The most realistic acting is taking a part of yourself
Depending on how much time you have, you might want to try auditioning for a community theatre part. It will give you an experience that you can't get from a web site or a book. You'll learn how an entire production is put together. You'll have an opportunity to see what happens at an audition, and to see what goes on behind the scenes. It's a great experience.
acting tips? go to an acting class-there is no way to explain acting over the internet.

also the chances that you will be cast in your own screenplay are incredibly minimal. you shouldn't waste your time.

when was the last time you saw ';written and starred in'; in credits before the person was a well established actor.
Hey Haily,

Best of luck, here is a search that has many sites. Surf all night long.
How big's your ego.

I once knew a guy who hung around people who were actors and singers and he wrote and he had a script and he expected to star in it and direct it and I laughed...

And Good old Billy Bob has the last laugh on me when he finally did it and got oscar nominations for Sling Blade.

Now, how big's your ego?

His was TREMENDIOUS!

  • I love my longtime boyfriend so much! What are some good ideas to surprise him? Any advice would be great!?

We are also getting married next year! He popped the question April 14th 2006! He's really Sweet %26amp; I love him to death!!I love my longtime boyfriend so much! What are some good ideas to surprise him? Any advice would be great!?
If you know what his Fav. things are its Easy

If he likes Sports, take him to a game, when %26amp; were is fav. team is playing, but don't tell him that your taken him... make him think that you going to go do some that he rather not be doing... Such as girl stuff... Shop, at like your going to go look at a Flower Fest. Or a Meusem.. Something like that. So when he gets there He will Be surpised. And he will Know how much you Know and love Him..

And you should Get cuddles, kisses and I love you's also.I love my longtime boyfriend so much! What are some good ideas to surprise him? Any advice would be great!?
Invite a friend over and give him a 3 some. He will love you forever.
I hate to be rude too! BUT next time you're having sex stick your finger up his bum, He will be VERY surprised!!
A classy watch is always a great gift for a guy. Or something else that he can wear for special occaisions, or even erery day.
Put a tripwire on the stairs.

He will be surprised I can tell you

    I'm going to be a freshmen...any advice?

i'm scared. my friends got into specialized high schools so none of my friends will be in the high school i'm going to. and these bunch girls that hate me a lot will be there=[ please help?I'm going to be a freshmen...any advice?
High School is so much different form Middle School. Its really big so I doubt you will have trouble making friends or being made fun of by the mean girls. I mean I saw people form my middle on the last day of Freshman year that I thought moved but they were there the whole time. What you need to worry about is education.

Just get involved with extra curricular stuff, helps both problems.I'm going to be a freshmen...any advice?
not from me. its my first time too
There is such a bigger world outside of high school. Dont be afraid to just be you. Try to meet other people. Ignore the ones who hate you. Just remeber you only live once. This is your life to live. I am 24 now and those girls who hated and were so popular arent doing very well with their low incomes and plenty of kids. I just wish I was a little more outspoken back in the high school days.
My advise would be regarding academics. Get a good start early. It is so hard to bring up a bad GPA versus the amount of slacking it takes to bring down a good one. That is if you're really interested in an education.
You should join a bunch of clubs and organizations and sports so you can make connections.
just go and do your stuff

    things will flow.

sounds simple but if you follow guidelines you will be one of those fake people you hate
Get involved in school activities and clubs - anything that interests you. Hold you head up high, and don't worry about the girls you say hate you alot. Who knows; alot of other people may not like them either. Find some people who like things similar to what you like and hang out with them. Soon you'll have alot of friends. Do good in your studies, too!
freshman year in highschool is easy.. you will gradually be eased into life as a highschooler.. everything is new to you and teachers understand that ... goodluck! be yourself and study and be smart and make friends everything will be fine
Work hard in school, friends will follow!
Make friends with a school bully like myself.
    i know how u feel!!!!
dont worry freshman is never that great for anyone anyways but if your worried about friends join some clubs or join some sports or band even if you never done them before or you suck at them it never hurts to try and there is usually someone willing to talk to you and want to be your friend. try not to slip into the wrong group and try not to be jealous if your old friends make new friends just keep in touch

    hope everything turns out good
well it's tough, you will loose a lot of friends and you will gain others also. Don't worry no one will harrase you or something. High School is really fun if you joing groups and sports, just don't feel left out.
join a team or club. seriously, it works. also look around your classes. see anybody you'd like to be friends with? ask them for help with homework or whatever....then start talking about other stuff. if it doesn't work at first just keep trying. there maybe some girls there whodon't like you, but not everyone does. just give them a chance to get to know you. and don't change yourself to get people to like you. that's always a big mistake. and if you find yourself alone on weekends rent a movie and have a guiltfree self-splurge fest. or read a really good book. being alone everynow and then isn't necissarily a bad thing.
I know how you feel I might not be going into freshman but I am going into 7th but I'm going into a new school so I know what you mean by not having none of your friends in your school, but don't let those mean girls bother you there just a bunch of snobs who think there popular and have nothing better to do with there life so act natural and don't let them see that there getting to you because if they see that there gonna keep on doing it to you but the best thing to do is ignore them and I wish you a lot of luck in your freshman year!
That was me last year! Well don't worry you'll get through it but just don't start trouble and make some new friends. :]
i dont know what to tell you bout the girls that hate you but im going to be a freshman to and i think the only thing you can do is be yourself and dont be nervous
    BE YOURSELF!!!

Let them hate as much as they want! Don't let them hurt your character. Get good grades, always to the right thing, and be the best that you can be!

    Any advice would be helpful?

So my husband is in the Army reserves right now and I am active duty in the Air Force. He really wants to go active so that he can be a Ranger. Any advice would be helpful?

Whenever a really attractive guy talks to me, I freak and act like a retard or a robot (disturbingly uncaring and emotion-less cuz I'm freaking out inside). Its SO embarrassing and stupid, and other times when I WANT to talk to a hot guy, I freak out extremely and never do it. Do you have any advice, or what I can do to help this, or words of encouragement for me and my pathetic problem?Any advice would be helpful?
Well, one thin is the deciding factor, if he talks to you first, it means he likes you, so no need to impress him for now, just be nice and flirtatious. But for talking to guys, just have confidence, trust me, any guy will be thrilled at the aspect of a girl coming up to them!

What is the difference between Advice and Opinion?

Advice is from an expert like a doctor or lawyer. Opinion is more subjective. What is the difference between Advice and Opinion?
advice should be based on fact and opinion should be based on feelings. But that is not how it usually works. They are normally lumped as one meaningWhat is the difference between Advice and Opinion?
    advice is recommended

    opinion is by choice
An advice is a well-advised opinion.
Advice usually involves an opinion (In my opinion, you should do such %26amp; such), but not all opinions involve advice (for instance, if I say it is my opinion that my hometown baseball team is the greatest, there is no advice given).
    spelling.
In my Opinion, Opinion is my own thing., how I feel, nothing to do with you.

But My advice is to tell you what you should do., Advice focuses more you than me.
Advice is usually something asked for.. Opinions are what people think u care to hear or just they want to tell you.. IF I asked someone what to do, that's advice.. On the other hand everyone in my life seems to want to tell me their opinion on aspects on my life that are NONE of their business.
    Don't you know ?
    advice (uncountable)

An opinion recommended or offered, as worthy to be followed; counsel.

An opinion is a person's ideas and thoughts towards something. It is an assessment, judgment or evaluation of something. An opinion is not a fact, because opinions are either not falsifiable, or the opinion has not been proven or verified.
Advice is going through a bad experience and letting someone else know so they don't make the same one. Opinion is what you think.
    Hmm...interesting question.

Advice I think is more objective while opinion is subjective.

Guys or Girls please give me some advice, anything would be appreciated?

I really like this guy I met last semester in college. He seems like he likes me he is always teasing me and giving me this really long eye contact. I flirt with him back, but it is like he don't get that I like him. How can I show him I have feelings for him without coming out and saying it. Please don't tell me to tell him, because if he don't really like me, I don't want to feel uncomfortable the rest of the semester and have to look at him.Guys or Girls please give me some advice, anything would be appreciated?
well if you didn't know, he's wondering what you're wondering. from what he's been doing, he absolutely loves you but is scared to see how you react if he told you. you just need to make it distinct to him that you like him like talking to him more, being close to him, and doing what you wouldn't do with your other guy friends. just keep making eye contact, keep flirting and see how he responds. read his body language, if its positive, just ask him out or something. i know he likes you but doesn't want to ruin the friendship,so just be like you wanna go out for a coffee sometime and he'd be like yea, i'd love to. if hes treating you special then he most likely likes you but idk you have to ask him out b/c he sounds shy. you dont have to tell him that you like him, but you can go out one nite just you and him and wen he drops u off, go like ur gonna kiss him and if he kisses you and enagaes in it then its positive that he likes you. hope that helped.im sure things will work outGuys or Girls please give me some advice, anything would be appreciated?
There is no hope to this situation.
he must be retarded, ???? don t know what to do with out been blunt....
Move on. If the guy is clueless, he doesn't deserve you.
try to slyly ask him out. start asking him to go get coffee or to go eat or hang out with friends. start including him in things. He should get the hint that you want to hang out with him and you are flirting with him. boys aren't that dumb.
dress sexy and get him hot..
Here's the sucky thing: guys really are pretty slow when it comes to catching on to a girl liking them.

I swear, I've liked someone for four months (count 'em four!) and it is only NOW that I THINK he's realised.

The eye contact and the teasing suggest that he likes you too, but if you're too scared to be like, ';Hey, yeah, I like you'; just casually ask him to do something with you on the weekend (movies, zoo, concert, whatever).

    Good Luck!

    :)
How about you ask him ';out'; (not as a date but as friends) for coffee or something were it will give him a chance to talk 1-1.
The only way you are going to know is if you keep chilling with him, ask him to come hang with you every now and then and exchange numbers. If he starts inviting you places Im sure eventually he'll want to date you, if he wants to. If not then there is nothing wrong with being just friends.
ask a friend to ask or show in action if you guys are more than friends.
Maybe you could touch him softly and try to impress him.
maybe try to offer to hook him with someone?

cuz if he really do like u, he should turn the offer down

or maybe try to pretend u are dating someone else

if he gets jealous then bingo

but personally, i think the guy should make the first move.
    thx for the 2 points

I'm a newbie when it comes to being a sales man...any advice from those who are experienced?

I was laid off from my previous occupation which was a graphic designer. I decided to take a different path working inside sales for cell phones.. I'm good and always felt I was a natural at sales, but I want to only improve.. For those who have been in sales for a while please give me tips on your success..!!!! PLEASE!I'm a newbie when it comes to being a sales man...any advice from those who are experienced?
read as much as you can

    anything by Gitomer is great

For inside sales I think John Lawhon's book Selling Retail volume 1 and 2 is fantastic. It's geared around furniture, but you could learn a lot from it.I'm a newbie when it comes to being a sales man...any advice from those who are experienced?
I agree with the second answer but I must add you will probably find that your customers most likely know what they want already and are just shopping for the best price. You can buy cell phones everywhere.

I do have one thought that has nothing to do with your question. Read my profile and if interested contact me.
    Never argue with a customer.

Hey with your age it's fun time.Don't be commited to anyone.Play with it..Ya young so enjoy it while you can.

I have about 拢1000, I want to invest in forex or the stock market, is there anyone who can give good advice?

Possibly someone who makes good money from this kind of thing, could you please explain how, would be great thanksI have about 拢1000, I want to invest in forex or the stock market, is there anyone who can give good advice?
I hope, you've done the home work - traded demo account for some time and developed a solid trading plan/strategy. Without these two components you'll be not investing, but rather gambling; and sure way you'll lose those 拢1000 in no time.

If home work is done, then it is like choosing a bank you want to keep your capital in - do a research on brokers.

If not, hold the money for now and instead:

    1. Open an online demo account with any broker.

    2. Trade demo money and develop a trading system, make sure it is profitable over a decent period of time

    3. Write everything down and then consider giving it a first shot with real money.

Some last advice: be prepared to the fact that you can lose all your money with your first real account. So, for the beginning I'd recommend split those 拢1000 into two equal parts and invest one part first. If you prove that you can manage and earn money, then you may add the second half to it.

    Good luck!

    Try it, but be smart!

I have about 拢1000, I want to invest in forex or the stock market, is there anyone who can give good advice?
if you ever want to invest in forex, don't ever jump without proper education. get professional help. check out this site. by opening an account with them- mini, gold, platinum or vip, they will provide you a personal Account Service Manager (ASM) to be your consultant, mentor and trading partner and with whom you can talk live via phone, email or chat. it is in this one-on-one mentoring that you will get to know forex in detail. utilize your ASM to learn as much as you could. all the best.
you need to prove your a good investor first before you lost all your money.

    open your account first:

and hold you money for about one month as you observe the market. or the stocks movement.

try to accumlate as many good stocks as possible

    and good luck
I don't dabble myself, but my ex does.

His theory these days is that you have to stick with 'necessities' and be prepared to ride out the storm until things get better...in other words, don't count on making your fortune overnight.

His 'necessities' include shares in pharmaceuticals, and food/nutrition sources. People won't necessarily buy homes in a down turn, clothing, cars, take out food, extras, etc...but they will keep up with their basic groceries and keep their families fed, and they will keep up with their blood pressure meds, heart meds, etc. Can't live without food or medication, so they are a guaranteed sale even in the worst economy.

I don't know much about the forex. I know he's tinkered there too, but hasn't talked much about it.

    Good Luck!

I'd stick to the stock market. Forex is pure speculation, the same as buying coffe futures, or something. Better odds than Monte Carlo, but less satisfying. Find a low cost onling broker. TD Ameritrade is a good place to start in the U.S., but I am not sure which broker might be good in the U.K. I pay $10 U.s. per trade. With the ammount you are looking to invest, I'd buy an exchange-traded fund (ETF). Do some research on Yahoo Finance. Buy one that tracks the FTSE or an international index denominated in British pounds.
find out where your old boss (the duke's) is going to get the orange crop report, steal it, and give them a fake one. Then sell while they buy, and they will be BROKE, and you will be rich!

oh wait... wasn't that a movie... crap.
There's a free beginners guide you can download at http://www.forexfromscratch.com - that shows you the 5 steps you need to take in order to start profiting from forex.

I want to be a model any advice?

this is something i have wanted to do since i was nine years old. i hope im tall enough. i think im at least 5'7. im 15 years old right now but after i graduate high school i want to move to new york to pursue my dream. tell me what you thinkI want to be a model any advice?
I think that it's great that thats what u want 2 do!

After high school when you move to new york you might want to take some NYU classes while you're waiting for the big break though so that after you're done modeling you can still have something to back you up! I think that you already sound like you look like a model. If its something that you really wanna do then go for it!I want to be a model any advice?
You should really measure yourself and see what your actual height is for high fashion it's best to be 5'8+. But anyway You need an agent. Send some pictures (don't take these pictures yourself have someone else take them and wear minimal makeup) to a modeling agency, see what they think, it takes more than just being tall to model.
I think you should be really careful and weary of scams... if a company is demanding bookoos of money out of you from the start, it is more than likely a scam... my best friend is a model and they paid her way to now york and paid for her photo shoots... if they want you badly enough, they will not take money from you... they will do whatever it takes to get you to work for them.
i think its great but u should be at least 5' 8 but ur young so u should wait a lil and also u need to have something to fall back on cause i mean when ur 30 who would want u when there are hot fresh 15 yr old girls?? but its a good idea well once u know u have the look and ppl mite reject u at first but if u know its something u really want to do dont stop
5'7 is not tall for the modeling world. Get an agent first to see what he/she thinks. Also, I would go to college first for at least a few years. Because you're screwed if it doesn't work out.
just be yourself and be confident !

    can you answer mine please!

  • I don't know if I want to be single, or be in a relationship. Advice?

I just got out of a relationship with someone I really love. He broke up with me and it has left me in pieces. I like his friend, but I've already been told to avoid him. What do I do?I don't know if I want to be single, or be in a relationship. Advice?
I think I would stay away. You need some time to get yourself together after ending this relationship. Depending on how long you were together and if it was a serious relationship It may take a few months or more. I would avoid getting into a relationship with a guy you have been warned about. Can you trust that warning, did it come from a reputable source? I think I would take some time.I don't know if I want to be single, or be in a relationship. Advice?
until you are convinced of what you really want ,dont begin what you cant end.
yea avoid him for a while. you need a couple months to cool off and get over your ex, or else your new bf will feel like you're not giving him your full attention
Perhaps there's good reason to avoid him, yeah?

Anyway... Maybe you should really give yourself some time to heal... and dating on the rebound doesn't count as a good way to heal..because you just might hurt someone else in the process.. So rediscover yourself, reflect on the things you've done before, like mistakes or bad calls.. And then slowly pick yourself up. Enjoy your single-blessedness... If you can feel how it is to be single again, maybe you'll learn to appreciate it.. and learn to appreciate the next relationship even more.. Ball's in your court. :)
The best thing you can do is give yourself as much time as you need to completely get over the last relationship, especially since there were so many emotions involved.

You may be feeling the need to jump right into another relationship to fill the gap but you need to be fair to yourself as well as the next guy you get involved with. No guy or gal honestly wants to get into a relationship with someone who is not over their ex. All that guy will be to you is a filler or a rebound. You won't be over your ex and will be expecting the new guy to fill his shoes and you will only get hurt again once he doesn't do it for you ('cause he won't) or he realizes the position he is filling, whatever comes first.

Obviously I don't know the reasons you were told to avoid his friend but I would avoid him anyways simply because he is his friend. You will always be reminded of of your ex and it will only prolong the healing time. Stay clear of him until you are ready to hear some unwanted things about your ex like his new girlfriend or just hearing his name without feeling that burning in your gut.

Enjoy being single. Get reacquainted with yourself and just have fun! Once your comfortable being single again then it may be time to get yourself back out there but definitely allow yourself the time to put those pieces together again.
give it a go? to see the truth for yourself not just by believe in what others say

you can do a bar course and of course bar work is good to do if you're roaming the world. having some sort of experience at the very least always helps but is not always necessary

sometimes i busked. do you play at instrument or can you sing?

in some countries i would get a temping office job to get a little more money. i too hate the 9 - 5 but it pays a bit more and you're still having fun because you're in a foreign country.

australia is brilliant make sure you go everywhere, same goes for new zealand. if you can, try and get to islands such as the cook islands, samoa, tonga, raratonga and tokeroa as it's a world apart from other countries and worth the experience. it's also cheap and they are very welcoming people.

do different things such as when visiting say a small island, hire a bicycle and do it that way. this enhances the travel experience and you meet more interesting people by varying your methods of travel.

certain countries in south america and if you go to some parts of asia and the middle east or africa, it's best to have a travel partner. sometimes it's good to travel alone but sometimes there is safety and support in numbers. if you stay in hostels from time to time, longer or shorter term you should meet other travellers doing exactly what you are so you should be able to hook up with people to travel to certain countries with.

congratulations on your decision to have this adventure. i can assure you it's the best education you can have and you'll learn more during your travels than in all your schooling and other things you've done put together.I am thinking of just roaming the Earth for four years, can anyone give me any advice?
Get all your inoculations before leaving.
Seems odd of you to ask for advise. I think only people who have undertaking such a journey could offer any. I doubt that they are here.

I would offer- never forget how to get back home.
    invest in good maps.

    don't eat Hedysarum alpinium.
    can i come ??
While in Australia, go south from Sydney to the Blue Mountains and look for tourist jobs in Jindabyne.

australia is easy to get a work visa but its a tedious country and when you are surrounded by english it will start to resemble your 9-5 quite worryingly. 4 years is a long time, especially if your not doing anything specific. Try to find a job you want to do specifically - ive met a lot of australians who kind of drift round the world for years on end without really achieving anything. Im off travelling arond the world for the second time in a week and will be working as i go but it'll be in my chosen vocation - and as its the kind of job that involves a lot of travelling im hoping its essentially a trip that wont end.
    Take multivitamins with you.

Eat properly every day to build energy( local fruit etc)

Make sure you wash your hands really well as bugs under nails( mate dysentery Indonesia)

memorise your account number for bank( in case you get bags/ things stolen)

    Fruit picking..perfect
Here's one.I've never done it because to apply you must go to Australia for the interview, but I've met people doing it and ,while it doesn't pay that much,it gets you around. In Oz,check out a travel agent called Intrepid, which hires fairly young people to travel around Asia with smallish groups of(often)older people, guiding them onto public transport, finding them fairly cheap accommodation, scoping out restaurants for them and taking them around the tourist sights.I've run into groups doing it in several Asian countries, and the guides they have aren't licensed tour guides, sometimes just young people trying combine a bit of work with a bit of travel.

A marriage built on lies will not last long.Iam no more virgin, can i get my skin tight,or tell some remedy or advice how can i be virgin.or advice me,i?
well i suggest not hiding it from him. only tell him if he asks, but hiding stuff from your spouse doesnt usually turn out good.
Dont lie to him, tell him the truth...........He will get over it or get over you but imagine if the truth came after you were married and he found out you lied...........
I know there is cream by appying it it will get tight.
    sorry dear.can't unring the bell!
No one knows it .go and have more fu .n.
Are you in a planned marriage by any chance?

You can't undo your virginity. Once it's gone, it's gone.

    Tell him the truth.
there is surgery for this... they replace the hymen!

however probably expensive and painful so maybe tell him you used a carrot lol
y dont u get married to ur bf itself rather than playing 2 games???
    just tell him the truth..
    dont do it
there is nothing you are going to have to tell him
FIRST OF ALL DONT TEL HIM U HAD SCREW BEFORE MARIAGE

AND EASIEST WAY TO PROVE U R VIRGIN IS TO TIE THE HAIR TOGETHER DOWN BELOW, SO WHEN U R HAVING S..X U CAN SCREM HAA OOOO
Well you shouldn't try to hide it. I told my bf before we started going out that I had lost it and he understood. And well not having anymore sex till marriage if you care about it that much. Also some excercises help tighten down there. but be always be honest.
OK I am guessing that in your culture this is really wrong, there will be no problem if it is your boyfriend that you marry, however if you marry someone else then you might have to do some pf exercised to tighten up a bit then just pretend.
chances are he wont be a virgin at that time either, so how can he expect u 2 be?
listn ur husband won undrstnd it f ur nt gtn maryd within a week. thrs no way to undrstd it for a guy %26amp; anyways thrs no way to be a virgin again. But don worry f u dont tell him he won undrstd it
marry with ur bf or enjoy it..

I am bored for the summer break any advice what to do?

I just sit at home and do nothing all summer and i need advice badly for something i could do. something fun, doesnt cost a whole lot, or an activity. i can rule out baseball soccer or driving because i need a couple of months to get one. so if you come up with some cool ideas type them and since i have no other choice being the lazy bom that i am i will gladly take your advice. THANK YOU!!:)I am bored for the summer break any advice what to do?
Try taking up either Karate or Yoga, both will keep your mind and body sharp, and who knows by the time your summer break is over you will really be someone think about chess also, as you will be able to give very good exercise to your brains. The body and mind the more you use them better it becomes. Either Karate or Yoga will instill a lot of patience in you which will help you to come up in life.I am bored for the summer break any advice what to do?
Don't know where you live, but if you want to do something fun and constructive I'd suggest voluntary work. In England there is a company called Vitalise (look on internet) that run holidays for disabled people. They have a skeleton staff of nurses and care workers, but then they rely on volunteers, and try and pair up one volunteer to every guest. They have 5 centres around the UK. You spend a week (or longer if you want). You get paired up to a disabled person for the week and help look after them. If you're a bit squeamish or new to care work they'll put you with someone only mildly disabled, who only needs minimal assistance. You basically have a free holiday. Your accomodation and food are paid for and you get free excursions to cinemas, theme parks, coach trips etc. (you're just assisting a disabled person in having a fun holiday). They have themed weeks depending on what you fancy (cinema weeks, horse racing weeks, music weeks, fishing weeks, beer weeks-visiting breweries and pubs!) The hardest week is the 20-35 year old week (or something similar) where you go on pub crawls and go to night clubs etc. Sounds fun, but you can't go to bed until your guest does and you have to be up in the morning at 7, to help get them up and dressed. A lot of people have to do it as part of a course (nursing students/ duke of edinburgh etc). A lot arrrive really nervous but then leave in tears because they've had such a great week. Give it a go (or something similar). You've got nothing to lose and it always looks good when applying for jobs. Good luck.

I have just taken on an old foster dog, he is blind and little anxious, any advice?

He is also lame in one of his front legs and has a wound on one of his back legs and is emaciated. I have to restrict his activity to give him a chance to heal, he is not interested in a bully stick and lying down seems to cause him pain, the rescue is sending me some pain meds. Any ideas of how I can entertain him without stressing him out?I have just taken on an old foster dog, he is blind and little anxious, any advice?
Quiet reassurance that he is in a safe place. Small snack treats that he can smell. Rest while you talk to him...gentle caressing touches and telling him he is safe now. Just talking and petting is enough for awhile. He certainly is not going to run around your house blind. You could lead him around in a few days and let him get the smell and feel of it...but do things slowly over days. You are a kind person to do this..%26gt;BLESSI have just taken on an old foster dog, he is blind and little anxious, any advice?
lots of love and patience is about all you can do right now. first he has to learn to trust you.
give him alot of care =]
Have you tried using a Kong? He might enjoy one, and you can stuff it with something that appeals to him. If you need any ideas about dealing with his blindness, try the blinddogs group at Yahoo. I have found them very helpful.
just give a lot of love and care to show him that you are not going to hurt him.
Hey there. Good for you for helping out - maybe he'd be interested in other things, like cream cheese inside a Kong, or a different kind of chewy, or if you soak that bully stick in some water that might work.

Ask the rescue if they can get / borrow a DAP diffuser. This is a pheromone diffusing plug-in that we humans cannot smell, but dogs can. It has a calming effect on most dogs and, though pricey, is well worth the $. If you have dogs of your own, they'll benefit from it too.

I am planning to knockdown my old house and do a modular I need any advice or tips for this project?

can you recommend reputable companiesI am planning to knockdown my old house and do a modular I need any advice or tips for this project?
Depending on where you live, I know here in florida insurance compaines are nolonger writting new policies for anything other than cement, cinderblock or similar construction. Making sure it is complety up to and above code will be the trick.

Not sure where you are located to reccommend a company, sicne I wouldn't trust living in a modular, even if it were offered free, but if you check the internet, and your yellow pages you maybe able to get started that way.I am planning to knockdown my old house and do a modular I need any advice or tips for this project?
I agree with hillbilly about the fire departments.

Another thing to, is there are salvage hunters that will tear it down for the lumber and anything salvageable. Check the want ads and try running an ad.

I know someone in my area that has done that. I have even been on his wrecking crew. He tore it down for the materials.
before you tear it down check with the fire department they some times will burn them down for you as part of training it would reduce the pile of junk to haul off
Check your friends and or church for a good general contractor..we used a friend from church for an add-on, and he prabably saved us $15 to 20 k

Are Dave Ramsey's books/concepts Canadian friendly or does he base most of his advice on the US system?

I would like to purchase the books as a gift for a family member who needs a financial plan but I'm worried that the books are filled with budgeting/investing advice that is useless to him here in Canada. Are Dave Ramsey's books/concepts Canadian friendly or does he base most of his advice on the US system?
The budgeting will work no matter the modern country you live in, Japan, Canada, Spain, US, etc.

Investing is written by an American but he is simple- stick with Mutual funds. Life insurance- purchase term life 8-10 times your income. Disability insurance - get some. Long term care insurance- buy it when you are 60. Health insurance- get some. College savings- use educational savings plan. Don't use the plans that you have no control over where the money is invested.

Since Canada has socialized medicine you may or may not need the disability, health or long term care insurance. I don't know how how much is paid for by the government in your country.

I assume Canadians can buy mutual funds- if that is true than the investing advice will be fine. He does not name funds just tells you what to look for in a good fund. He explains why he doesn't like single stock, bonds, precious metals, etc.

Good luck! Are Dave Ramsey's books/concepts Canadian friendly or does he base most of his advice on the US system?
I'm not sure, never been to canada..

he teaches the baby steps, which I guess work whether its US money or canadian money

    his investing advice is below.

Any serious advice would be appreciated??

Should I work with a debt councillor or should I file for bankruptsy??? Which is more beneficial??

Big time debt, credit cards at max and creditors hounding us and we never have time to do the bills on time and can barely pay the min. We fell way back and now we have to do something desperate. How can I survive??Any serious advice would be appreciated??
Under current Federal law, in order to file bankruptcy you will have to go through credit counselling first. Talk to any bankruptcy attorney; they'll spell it all out for you.Any serious advice would be appreciated??
Have you tried to work with the creditors themselves? Let them know your situation, try to work something out. Bankruptcy stays with you 7 years. I would either work with your creditors or check with a credit counseling agency.

A trick that works for me is every payday, I pay my credit card. Not the minimum they ask for, the minimum plus the finance charge. This way, you are paying more of your debt off, and if something does happen and you can not make a payment, you should be a little ahead. Also, if the statement has a balance, but the minimum payment due is $0.00, pay what the finance charge would be, but make a payment even if the statement says $0 due.

Does your bank have automatic bill pay? I would look into that also. But work with your creditors, get a minimum payment you can afford and they will accept, make your payments on time. A show of good faith toward your creditors will get you back on track.

Bankruptcy should be a very last resort.
Go to a debt counsellor, they will find a way to consolidate your debt so that your monthly payment will be easier to handle.
Bankruptsy i would say,, as soon as i filed and it went thru i was offered credit again which i didnt take,,, kill the credit cards for life,, if ur smart,,, or u can consoldate everything and pay it off for the rest of your life lol,,, 10 years its off your record and your back on your feet as long as your dont screw up again an make bad credit for yourself,,, if your 100.000 in debt or more then i suggest it,, if not pay it...

    !
    hiol
If you can get a lower payment through credit counseling, then it may help you get your credit and budget back on track. They can usually get much lower interest rates also. What is really beneficial is that many creditors will re-age your accounts (return to current status) when you sign up for a debt management plan. This can reduce your payments and eliminate late fees.

You may wish to contact a local credit counseling agency. Make sure they have a satisfactory rating with the Better Business Bureau.
DO NOT file bankruptcy. Even if you choose not to pay anyone, and even if you forget about the debt counselor, DO NOT FILE. It will only make your problems worse.
debt consolidator. Bankrupsy laws are tougher now and besides bankrupsy is not a means to make problems go away. You need someone to help you manage your money and bills. Bankrupsy will not help solve that problem, if anything you would find yourself asking the same question a few months after bankrupsy. Call up CCC.
Try a debt counselor first, if that does not look promising, them file for bankruptcy. Good luck, I can sympathize with you.
Write your creditors explaining your situtation they might have a solution. Or credit counciling.
Debt councilor. If there is no solution except bankruptcy, then they can tell you. They might be able to help you consolidate the bills and set up a payment plan. If not, then you've done your best.

I am a sophomore in HS and will be moving from NJ to NC, what advice can make this any easier?

When I was a Sophomore I moved from California to Virginia. It was hard to move in the middle of HS, and some what of a culture shock to me. But I learned a valuable lesson. I learned that I could start over and really be the person that I was, being true to my values with out worrying about what my friends would think of me. Moving gave me a clean slate. I made new friends the knew me for who I was and that was cool.

Another thing I learned was that in my first 2 years in HS I was concerned about what others thought of me, the way I looked and dressed, and the way I cut my hair etc. When I moved I changed my hair style and the style of clothes I wore. I kind of re invented my self and I was comfortable with who I was with out worrying about the friends I had in CA and what they would think. I had new friend who got to know the new me.

Take advantage of having a clean slate.

I recently had my 20th reunion. Many of the lessons I learned from moving have served me well in the rest of my life. Just be friendly, and you will make friends. Moving from the North to the South will be a big change. Enjoy the differences, but don't dwell on them too much. Learn from a new perspective move forward. Try not to compare NJ and NC too much. Live for the future do not dwell too much on the past.I am a sophomore in HS and will be moving from NJ to NC, what advice can make this any easier?
be patient, smile and just try to make friends, don't make fun of the accent, because you are now the one with the accent.I am a sophomore in HS and will be moving from NJ to NC, what advice can make this any easier?
well, I just moved here (NC) from maryland, and I love it here!! NC is the best kept secret in the world! Its the people! they are the best. second is the fact that their is everything you want and need here. I love it.
    realizing that life begins at graduation. Understanding that this is your first step in coming to terms with the real meaning of ';the only thing constant is change!';
Stay in jersey i moved to MI from south jersey and wish i hadnt theres no place like NJ
Smile a lot (but dont be weird about it) and don't talk bad about anyone, no matter what you hear.. and try to be friends with anyone who talks to you.

He was diagnosed exactly four weeks old. They say that it is very rare for a infant like that to get it. The tumor was on his spine also which they said was in a unusual spot. My doctor said that he has not seen this case since 1973 with a baby. If there is anyone out there that has had this happen to them or have heard anything like this please contact me, any information will be helpful. I just don't know what exactly to do so I need as much advice as possible thank you.Could someone help, my baby was born with rhabdomyosarcoma I just need some advice and information?
I'm so sorry about your baby . . even though this may be rare you can still find support through the Rhabdomyosarcoma groups . . this disease can hit at any age. There are several types of this disease with the most common for children under 6 called Embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma

There is an email list group and the people there will be able to offer support and hopefully some guidance for you as you seek treatment:

What is your best makeover advice?

I am not a beauty queen. Would like to up the heat in my marriage a little. Need a change. What is your best makeover advice?
Make-up is a personal choice. If it makes you feel better go for it. I wear make-up because when I look better, I feel better. Also try wearing sexy underwear. A matching bra and panties(or thong, cheeky, boycut) a teddy or camisole and tap pants. Wearing something sexy under my clothes makes me feel sexy. It makes me feel like I have a secret that I can't wait to share with my husband. And beleive me he is very appreciative! We also try many different things like massage, role play, location and different positions. We have been married for 8 yrs. and have 2 children, 4 dogs and 2 cats. We have very busy lives and little privacy not to mention little oppurtunity but part of what makes our marriage work and keeps the passion alive is our willingness to try new things! Talk to your husband. Don't be ashamed or embarrased. I feel that communication and sexual satifaction are the two most important things for a happy and successful marriage. I hope this helps and good luck! What is your best makeover advice?
I think you both need to a ';break time';. May be you can go to your parent for several weeks. After it, usually you can pick the best path for you. Don't forget to see all sweet memories with him. May be this can help a little.
No makeover. If it doesn't works it's his fault and you should divorce.
I doubt, any answer having to do with ';break time'; has to do with looking good. Don't wear any make up, let your natural beauty show. Be proud of what you were born with!

My husband wants me to be more obedient to him could u give me some advice?

i obey him i do all the house hold chores and only speak when am allowed to i never answer back

i do like being the obedient wife but i need tips helpMy husband wants me to be more obedient to him could u give me some advice?
Sounds like the dark ages. If his royal hinney wants you to be more obedient, I'd look fast, far, and wide for something different. Sounds like the King Henry days!!My husband wants me to be more obedient to him could u give me some advice?
Well your husband is taking it a bit far, ofcourse you have every right to say your opinion and share decisions but remember a boat can't have 2 captins so if there's a major decision you can discuss but the final word is to the man, and don't listen to those who keep saying 'what era are we living in' and all that crap cause that what leads to a failed marriage when the congestion is up high in a household that leads to endless arguments and then divorce and in the end you end up hurt.

Listen to your heart and it'll lead you and don't listen to the feminist crap please.
    Troll or not.

Some people like being submissive, people.

    Give it a break.

Just as some people like being submissive, others like being dominant.

Maybe she finds pleasure in pleasing her husband.

Just like some people in life find pleasure out of helping others instead of just themselves.

Some people are just simply attracted to guys that dominant.

ffs, it's not neglect or any sort of emotional abuse if the person enjoys it.
i think this is pathetic, and i really hope your joking. wake up! women can vote now, heck we even go to school! we also have become doctors and scientists!! we don't ask to speak! grow some pride and dignity. give him the mop and go out with the girls for a couple of beers.
Wow! What era is he living in? Things haven't been that way for a long time.

I believe in letting the man be the head of the house, however, I have a brain and want my opinion to be heard.

You need to do some thinking on that one.
I hope this is a troll or a joke.

I'll answer as though it is... you could try learning to read hi mind, then he wouldn't even have ot waste his breathe ordering you around.
LOL you're kidding right? No wonder he married you, he doesn't have to pay a maid anymore AND you put out.

    Wake up bimbo.
Please tell me you're practicing your stand-up comedy routine.
Go to Bingo, its a sure way not to speak to members of the opposite sex.
God gave you a mind to use it. To think for yourself. You are not owned property.
Do a better job of washing his feet.
Stand up for yourself and tell him its his turn to do the washing up or NO SEX. he will soon change his selfish mind
Don't roll your eyes when asked to do things, or sigh. Smile :)
You're well on your way to being a bottom. Submissive that is.
i think your having a laugh...

Get as much rest as you can before baby comes! Have an agreement with your significant other as to responsibilities for baby and the household. Have lots of extra bedding, onesies, etc. on hand and conveniently located, so you can clean up and get everyone back to bed quickly in case of accidents. Always keep a bag with extra baby clothes, blanket, diapers, wipes, bottle, etc. in the car(s) so you are prepared for unexpectedly long outings. Don't be afraid to tell people not to come over if you don't want company during those first few weeks - you will all need time to adjust. Don't be afraid to ask for help with anything you need - it is okay to not do it all yourself! Sleep when baby sleeps - you will be glad you did. Take lots of photos - they change so fast! Write things in a baby book right away - don't count on remembering specifics later. Don't buy too much of anything in one size - baby will grow out of it quickly! Take time to enjoy every moment... good luck!
Pampers Swaddlers, Huggies unscented wipes, gowns(for easy diaper changes), blankets to swaddle the baby, burp pads, Purell, socks, hats and a swing, Avent bottles. Shop at Target and/or WalMart.
Stock up on diapers now, and don't forget the wipes. You'll also need some onesies, some sleepers, socks, and some receiving blankets. Don't worry too much about all the other stuff. Honestly, you really won't need a lot of the products that most first time moms buy. I will say that a swing is a great investment.

Also, don't get one of those big bulky diaper bags. They are such a hassle!!!! The best thing to do is to get either a backpack or a backpack style diaper bag. Other wise you'll constantly be fighting with it to keep it on your shoulder. You'll be carrying enough once the baby's born, so save yourself some trouble and just stash everything you need in a cute backpack that goes over both shoulders.
oh sweetie....the only tip i have for a mommy2bee is....

go take a nap now while you can and think about the other stuff later.......

besides,if you save that for later you wont have to write on here about what to do about postpartum depression.....you'll be too busy thinking of fun places to shop!

    problem solved.
I love Babies R Us and Walmart. Walmart has great affordable clothes, your baby will probably only wear each outfit a few times, so you don't want to spend a lot on every outfit, just the special ones, which you can get those at Babies R Us. They also have EVERYTHING else you need from baby proofing your home, to diapers and formula. Buy a case of newborn diapers at Babies R US, their brand. You go through so many diapers, they are only about $10 and you change them so often that you don't need to worry about leaks yet. Also, the best invention by far is the Floppy Seat, it goes over high chairs and carriages so when your baby gets a little bigger and you go out you don't have to worry about those dirty high chairs or your child eating the handle at the grocery store, if your baby chews the strap, it is her strap to chew!
dont go crazy when buying clothes for your new born because when the baby arrives you are gonna recieve so many clothes and they grow out of the sizes so quick. mothercare are great and you are entitled to a 15% discount on anything you buy for the first year
Start buying diapers now, because you won't feel like running out to get them during the first month or so after the birth.

Best advice I can give is to not be their best friend.

They have friends. What they need most from you is for you to be a parent. Set ground rules and stick to them,

give them chores to do so they can build character, make

sure they know where the fences are so they can feel secure and above all never stop listening to them. That is what kids want the most from their parents. Give them all the love and support you can and when you come to the end of your rope with them...love them even more. They will

thank you in the end. Good luck. You can do this.
Yup, I'm not sure where the mother is going to be in all this but make sure you keep documentation of everything. That way if the mother ever tries to come around %26amp; accuse you of this %26amp; that you have proof.
    1. make shore they go to school

    advice in what?

Saying you need ';advice'; is rather a broad and vague statement!

I am having VERY BAD trouble with fleas can anyone give me any advice?

We had some people move in next door to us and they had 2 dogs that had very bad fleas. We lived next door with 3 dogs who until then had no fleas or anything. Then I guess the fleas came over into our yard and got on our dogs. The neighbors have moved and we have tried to do lawn treatments, we have dipped our dogs, we have tried frontline sprays and spot treatments and our poor dogs are miserable. I was just wondering if there is anything that you can recommend. I have heard that the K9 advantix is really good and i was wondering if any one thought that would be a good idea. I am in desperate need of advice! ThanksI am having VERY BAD trouble with fleas can anyone give me any advice?
Advantix is very good (dogs only, not cats). It kills fleas faster than plain advantage or frontline. There is no magic bullet here, all the flea eggs are going to hatch in the next couple of months, and they will be killed off as they come into contact with your dog. You can spray indoors with an insect growth regulator that keeps eggs from hatching, this will help. Nothing will help much outside. Try not to bathe the dogs--this will wash off some of the Advantix.I am having VERY BAD trouble with fleas can anyone give me any advice?
    Beneficial Nematodes

    For Flea Control

Beneficial Nematodes are microscopic, nonsegmented worms that occur naturally in soil all around the world. Steinernema carpocapsae and Steinernema feltiae prey soil dwelling insects. Once they are released, the nematodes seek out host insects and enter their prey through body openings and emit an endo-toxin that results in death for the host insect within 48 hours. The nematodes reproduce and their offspring feed on the insect cadaver and emerge to seek out new hosts.

For Flea control: Apply liberally over area around where pet sleeps or frequents, using a garden sprayer of alternate method of dispersion. Less than 5% of the flea population are adults at any one time. Steinernema sp. hunt and destroy pre-adult flea stages that live in the soil until maturity, when they seek a blood meal from you or your pet. Control begins within 24 hours of treatment and lasts for up to several months.

This is a great all natural way to combat those fleas and they REALLY WORK! Do a google search to learn more. They get rid of all kinds of bad critters in your yard as well like ants.

Our first application lasted a little over 2 years then we had to reapply just a few months ago. My dogs had fleas so I knew it was time. The flea problem is now gone even though I have neighbors with dogs. Hope this helps!
rinse lather and repeat. thats all you really can do. good luck with that problem.
Frontline usually works, but when it doesn't it's usually because the fleas have become to resistant to it (can happen with Advantage or Advantix too). So it's best to alternate the products occasionally. This usually solves it.

By the way, garlic is not good for dogs and many are allergic.
try feeding your dogs garlic. I know it sounds weird, but it has worked for me! You can use garlic powder on your dogs food and usually they like it.
I believe the general consensus is that Advantage or some equivelant is the best medicine. I buy mine for my cats off ebay and I usually buy from people who sell them in large quantities(4.0 ml for dogs 55lbs and over) and package them with a little vial and an extractor/syphon -i don't know what it's called, to extract portions from the vile, but that is intended to apply small ammounts to cats. So if your dog is 55lbs and over you can find supplies on ebay for about $10 a month(with shipping) if you look. Otherwise is your dog is smaller, look for the ones that come with the vial/extractor to save money because below the largest 4ml ammount available I believe the cost rises.
get a lot of flee spray ad ask your nab-or if you can treat there lawns you need to do this every two weeks for 3 months this well do it .also do your yard and your dogs should be washed with flee soap every week for a month then once a month .make sure you spray every month after the three month control period this may seam like a bunch to do but with a hose end sprayer it goes fast and the poison is not that much ask you nab-oars to pay for a bottle for there yard if they say no you offer to do it .i no you should not have to do this but right or wrong it is the why it is .
Treating the yard was good now what you need to do is treat the house, fleas come in the house on your dogs and live in your carpet, research on the net or talk to a vet about how to make your home flea free. Until then continue to treat your yard and individual dogs.
I can help! I have 3 dogs and had this problem earlier this year. It was REALLY bad. We tried everything, and I was at my wits end.

Frontline, Advantage and Advantax are all great. BUT, they do not kill the existing fleas in the house or on the animal. What you have to buy is called Capstar (get it from your vet). Give it to all of your dogs. Within hours all of the fleas will drop dead off your dogs. Meanwhile, vacuum the whole house, including furniture. If they sleep on your bed, wash all of the beddding (or anything they do come in contact with). Now you're ready to apply the Frontline or other topical medicine. Wait 72 hours before bathing them, if you want to. Trust me, this is the only thing that worked for us. I just don't know why my vet didn't let me know about Capstar in the first place. We have not had one flea since.
You do need a vet strength flea treatment. It will cause the fleas' eggs to be infertile and eventually break the cycle. A professional pest control company can treat your house and yard. For instant death to existing fleas on your pets, a shot of Capstar works immediately. OTC stuff just really doesn't cut it for bad infestations.
Try using the 5 % sevin dust. You can put this on dogs over 12 weeks old and also sprinkle in your yard, repeat it about every three weeks and you will be done with fleas soon. You can also bath your pets in the Dawn dish washing liquid to kill fleas. The sevin dust will also rid you of ticks.
Advantix is a good medicine, you can read more about it here:

    http://www.fleascontrol.com/k9-advantix.鈥?/a>

You could try diatomaceous earth around your yard - it's a kind of soil that kills fleas because of tiny, microscopic jagged edges that won't hurt you:

    http://www.fleascontrol.com/diatomaceous鈥?/a>
The safest and cheapest method of getting rid of fleas is to use a mixture of boric acid and salt. The powder should be sprayed on carpets, bedding and areas frequented by pets. More information on getting rid of fleas is available at http://pests.in/fleas.html
seven dust your yard for a couple of weeks, bathe the dogs every couple of days, dawn blue dish soap kills fleas instantly( i use this on my 2 dogs) if the dogs come inside bomb your house. and advantage should help but you have to keep treating because fleas eggs hatch every couple of days.
you can kill ticks and fleas with a medical drop. you buy it from the vet and drop it on his neck so he cant lick it! they will get better in 3-5 days.

    take care

  • I am a white belt and am a little confused about form. We did a front block a punch then kick any advice?

your question is a little vague as to what you don't understand.

when practicing form think of an invisible attacker trying to punch you. use your front block to not get hit, then counter attack with your punch. as the attacker is knocked back a little from the punch, kick them. that is a basic breakdown for that combo. get a classmate to practice that with you. start out slowly to ensure correct form but slowly it will become a reflexive response to a frontal attack.

Repetitive training will develop the muscle memory necessary to do more complex combinations. practicing with partners will teach you distancing(the ability to know the range needed for kicks, punches and blocks.)

hope this helps, if not elaborate on whats giving you trouble.I am a white belt and am a little confused about form. We did a front block a punch then kick any advice?
What style of martial arts would help but whatever happens just focus. And block, kick, punch, or whatever do it like you mean. You fight the way you train. If you train hard and well you will fight hard and well. If you train lazily and sloppy you will most likely not succed in a fight. And remember form is important. Try your hardest to get it right, but dont beat yourself up if you dont or if you cant. All i can say is try your best.I am a white belt and am a little confused about form. We did a front block a punch then kick any advice?
If you want a answer then you must be a bit more detailed in your question.

1 - What style do you do?

2 - What advice do you want?

3 - How are you confused?

You must tell us these things before I (we) can give you a real answer that is more then just speculation.
my suggestion is to ask the instructor. you didn't really give us enough info to help more than that, and the instructor would know best the way he wants you to do it. don't be afraid to ask the instructor questions; that's what he's there for!
Forms are useless. Thats all you need to know.
    you gotta say the style

Just took test and it says positive but have cramps and am supposed to fly on hols tmw! So worried any advice?

My period was 3 days late so just took a test and it came up positive straight away, im worried though because i have cramps for the last few days and im supposed to be flying on hols tomorrow for a week. should i cancel the flights?? can anyone put my mind at ease?Just took test and it says positive but have cramps and am supposed to fly on hols tmw! So worried any advice?
youll be fine, i had cramps in the beginning of my pregnancy to. right around the time i took my test.

flying is okay until the 3rd trimester.

congrats!!Just took test and it says positive but have cramps and am supposed to fly on hols tmw! So worried any advice?
the cramps are normal. it's just your uterus expanding to accommodate the little baby growing inside of you. you'll get these on and off throughout your pregnancy.

go away on your hols and enjoy yourself. xx
congratulations. go on holiday and enjoy yourself.there is no point worrying yourself silly about things which might or might not happen. if you still feel worried when you come back go to gps.dont overdo things though, let some one lift your case for you
It's normal to have cramps early on. They feel just like period cramps and also had me really worried, but it all worked out ok. It's just the embyro 'burying' into your womb!!!

You should be fine to go on holiday - I wouldn't worry
First of all, congrats on the pregnancy.

There is no need to worry about flying when pregnant.

Airlines will only stop you once you are 34-35 weeks pregnant or more.
am afraid you have to see your doc first make sure that your pregnancy is going fine and that you are not at any risk

Who would be a good person to ask for advice on girls, I don't understand them at all and I am shy?

You posted here.. To ask to ask someone about who would be good to give you advice?... Well pretty much everyone here would help you... If you want someone in your life. I guess your dad? Mom? Sister? Maybe a really close girl friend. They tend to work best =PWho would be a good person to ask for advice on girls, I don't understand them at all and I am shy?
Well, 1st of all, ask a girl. Anyone girl who answers this Q is probably willing to help you.

Since 99.9% of us probably don't know you, we'll all be open and honest (I hope!)..... great Q, and you can count on us!

If you don't want to talk to us, talk to your mom, close friend (male or female- either will give great tips!), or even Google if you have to. Good luck!

Well... us for one. You are in an advice section.

    you can ask here.

Or you can try a female friend or relative. Someone you don't find attractive, who doesn't find you attractive.

But I would start here....whaddya need to know?
your dad? an older brother? definately someone older than you. but what you need to realize is that not only are all girls very much different. but also that no matter how hard you try, you will never fully understand them lol
Ask your father or a girl who is really close to you. Or even a girl cousin. Or you can ask me. I'll be glad to give you information.
Honestly no one. No one understands them. I used to ask my questions to my aunt and she seemed to be helpful. How about your dad? My aunt was much more helpful. Always good to get a women's perspective.
^_^ no one understands us except us ourselves. ask one of ur guy friends or ur parents. -_- or put up a question on yahoo answers
Your mom or sisters are always a good choice even tho u might think its a little awkward. But just try to get a little more confident.
Do they speak a different language from yours? Maybe that's why you don't understand them

I have been nominated as treasurer for my son's football league. Any tips or advice?

I used to be senior staff accountant for a large corporation but have rec'd many comments stating ooh be careful..lot of work..hope you know what you are getting yourself into. Is there a book I can buy for best practices for a non-profit organization?I have been nominated as treasurer for my son's football league. Any tips or advice?
The ';best practices'; are the simplest ones. A pencil and notebook might be your solution. The only thing that matters is that all moneys are accounted for. Since this is not an income - generating operation , you should only be taking in money once or twice a season. And the money always comes from the same place .... the parents.

You keep receipts for all expenses but there shouldn't be many.

One line in the journal for your expenses and one for your ';incoming money';. Don't let it become complicated.

Jamaica trip advice!!!! Mo Bay to be specific..help?

how much spending money should i be taking to jamaica, i was thinking about $250, would that be enough? this is just money for souveniers, how expensive is stuff over there? and what should i expect when i get there??Jamaica trip advice!!!! Mo Bay to be specific..help?
1st of don't ever pay the asking price for anything in Jamaica ! start off offering 1/2 of what the ask and barter your way to what you find to be reasonable (i've found walking away always works) and yes $250. is plenty. and to answer what to expect-expect the time of your life!Jamaica trip advice!!!! Mo Bay to be specific..help?
That really should be enough. You will want to make sure you have a good understanding of the conversion rate. You can get this rate at the airport or at your resort. This will help you to compare the pricing and know if something is way too expensive or not. Also, if you have enough time compare prices and try to negotiate pricing.
Unless you are buying gifts for a bunch of people you should be fine. Don't do any shopping at all (cover your eyes) at the airport since it's overpriced.

Wait until the end of your trip to do your shopping, by then you might have a feel for how people haggle and it will give you time to ask others what they paid.

Jamaica is full of great artists, you should be able to find some really nice gifts!

Do well in school; go talk to your school counselor (they can give you good advise on what you should do to become a vet, colleges, and volunteer opportunities in your area); get lots of hands-on experience with animals (work at a vet clinic or maybe try volunteer at a wildlife rehab); Get as high of a degree as you can; after your degree do an internship or residency.

    Preparation Advice-

Students interested in a career in veterinary medicine should begin their preparation by doing well in general science and biology in junior high school. They need to take a strong science, math, and biology program in high school. To be considered for admission to a college of veterinary medicine, a student must first complete undergraduate preveterinary medical coursework, which usually includes three to four years of college study, with specific course requirements. Each college of veterinary medicine establishes its own preveterinary requirements. Typical requirements include basic language and communication skills, social sciences, humanities, mathematics, chemistry, and the biological and physical sciences.

    Preveterinary Coursework-

Preveterinary coursework can be completed at many colleges and universities, including those at which the veterinary medical schools are located. Students should check with the veterinary college to which they plan to apply to be sure they take all required courses. They should also be certain that credits from the preveterinary courses they take at the school of their choice are acceptable to the veterinary colleges.

Completion of a preveterinary program does not guarantee admission to a college of veterinary medicine. Admission to veterinary school is highly competitive. Applicants usually have grades of ';B'; or better, especially in the sciences and may be required by the veterinary school admission policies to take appropriate examinations such as the Graduate Record Examination. Most colleges give preference to candidates with animal or veterinary related experience. The number of qualified applicants who are admitted to veterinary colleges nationwide varies from year to year, but the average acceptance rate is approximately 43%. [avma.org]

Question: Can you tell me about veterinary medicine as a career option.

Answer: I am a senior veterinary student at The Ohio State University in Columbus, OH. I plan to work with exotic animals in private practice when I graduate. However, I've spent a lot of time volunteering at various zoos and talking to various zoo veterinarians over the last 10 years.

First of all, it doesn't really matter what your undergraduate degree is in as long as you take all the prerequisite course work for admission into a college of veterinary medicine. This often means that you end up taking enough course credts for a major in biology/zoology/microbiology/ecology or some such field. However, there are a number of students in my class who majored in some totally different field such as business, music, and computer engineering.

The amount of money you can earn in this profession depends on what field you go into, on average the starting salary of a veterinarian right out of school is $55,000-65,000. Although, some people earn more if they are paid on production. Being paid on production means that whatever amount of money you generate for a practice, you get a percentage of that amount in your paycheck. Currently, Lab Animal Veterinarians are paid the most right out of school, but Equine veterinarians often end up making more after they've worked int he field for over 5 years. Zoo Vets usually get paid less since zoos often don't make much money and also most people who are zoo vets do it because they love the animals, not for the money.

If you want to pursue a career working in a zoo, it is best to start out by volunteering at a local zoo and getting your foot in the door by networking with the keepers and curators. Also, when you are picking out what veterinary college to apply to; make sure the school you choose has an exotic animal medicine department. Get well grounded in the basics of both large animal medicine and companion small animal medicine while in veterinary school. Pursue internships at a zoo during your summer breaks in Veterinary school. Lastly, get a good internship/residency in zoo medicine after you graduate with your DVM. If you do all that, you will probably be able to pursue a career in zoo medicine. One other thing, If you want to get a good residency, it helps if you can get published while you are in college in a peer reviewed journal.

Some things you can do before attending college and veterinary school would be to contact zoos (zoo veterinarians treat almost all exotic animal species), aquaria, and local veterinarians (find out which local vets treat exotic animal species) 鈥?the yellow pages or internet are good resources for this. Some zoos and veterinary hospitals even have special summer volunteer programs. Once you make a list of some places that interest you, find out which of these places you can work or volunteer 鈥?this experience will help you make more contacts with people to get you started and it will give you a first hand look of what it is like. The opportunities in this field are unlimited 鈥?you can work in animal hospitals, zoos, aqauria, universities, safaris - the sky's the limit.

Question: As a high school junior what should I be doing to enhance my chances of being accepted into a pre-vet program in college ? I recently visited Ohio State and spoke with a student in the Animal Science program and she indicated that I should be getting exposure hours in the field as a volunteer or employee because those who get accepted at Ohio State generally have 500 - 800 hours of service before applying to the program. Is this true in most programs ? I know it is very difficult to get into a program and want to do anything that I can to be better prepared. Any advice would be appreciated.

Answer: While getting into veterinary school is difficult, it is NOT impossible and it is GREAT that you are already focused and interested in the profession. :) Definitely the student you spoke with when you visited Ohio State is correct. The admissions committees at all of the veterinary schools (including Ohio State) like to see and tend to accept students who are very dedicated to the field. So, I would definitely recommend getting as much hands on veterinary experience that you can. Since you will be applying to veterinary school in about 4-5 years, having a record of animal and veterinary experience for many years will definitely be beneficial.

When I was a junior in high school, I began by working in a kennel that was attached to a veterinary hospital. Eventually, I was offered a job in the veterinary hospital working as a veterinary assistant. My other recommendation to you is to try and seek out a diverse range of animal and veterinary experiences. For example, try to work for a small animal veterinarians, a horse veterinarian, work with a researcher, etc.

Question: How hard is it to get into vet school?

Answer: Not hard, if it's what you really want and are willing to work hard to get there. There are only 27 veterinary schools in the United States, but 2-3 X more than that in medical schools. So, yes, you are competing with a lot of people to get into one of those vet schools. But I truly feel that if you are committed to veterinary medicine, have gotten good grades, and have shown leadership potential and worked hard, then you will get in. It takes some people more than one try (more than one year of applying to get in) but I got in the first year. I think what made me a great candidate was the fact that I got a alot of experience in different fields of veterinary medicine before I applied to vet school. I gained experience by working as a technician, vet assistant and research assistant.

Q: What qualities would impress these schools?

Answer: Unfortunately, most schools select who they will interview based on their applications. So looking good on paper is a good thing-- by that I mean having a good college GPA (minimum 3.4). This also means being active in your community (clubs, etc) having leadership potential (i.e. organizing events, running for president/vice pres/treasurer of class or clubs, or being more than just a ';member';--be active!) and volunteering (for example, I volunteered at a local animal shelter). Most importantly, your experience in the field (veterinary medicine or even human medicine) is critical. Start now by shadowing vets in your community, and not just one type of vet-- Large animal and small animal. Once you are in college, start doing research projects, and continue working for local vets to gain experience. Don't be intimidated to ask vets for a position (even if it's just volunteering)--they, too, once needed a place to gain experience and most are happy to give you the opportunity. Don't give in to peer pressure, and if you haven't already....you'll be starting your period and other girls will be too.....and that means Hormones will be changing and attitudes will be increasing and sex will be on everybody's mind and pressure will keep comming from everybody about doing everything. Stay focused on your school work..... Guys will always be around, your education is more important for your career or future.I'm going to be a 7th grader any advice?

Please spare yyourself and others of slutty clothing and extremely low standards =)!!!

i have a daughter going in to the 6th grade and she is worried about the same stuff

but dont worry of course you dont know but doing new things can be fun

seventh grade is hard, but it is rewarding at the end. Particularly in science.
In my school, most of what the 7th graders are doing is just preparing for 8th grade. Make sure you keep your grades stable, don't bomb a test, because it'll usually lead you to do worse and worse...

Pay attention in class, don't worry about getting lost..most other people are going through the same thing. =D

    and most importantly.. have fun!
ur gonna be a sevie!!! haha

(sevie is a word used at my high school....its what we call the 7th graders)
School is hard in 7th so focus on it. Don worry about the drama or what people think of you, just be yourself. There will always be drama but if you mess up in school it with mess with you the resat of your life. So stay with the work %26amp; not the drama.
    Yes, don't act relly cool.
